COMPETITION BACKGROUND
Universiti Teknologi Petronas Civil Engineering Student Society (UCITY) will be organizing an event called Intervarsity Concrete Frisbee Competition. The main purpose of the competition is to design and construct a frisbee made of concrete which is durable, lightweight, and practical for games. This competition will enable UTP students specifically and other university students generally, to be creative and innovative in finding possibilities that link to concrete technology. Concrete is a very dear subject to civil engineering students, thus this will indirectly contribute to one of the modes of learning in UTP. This competition would also be beneficial in preparing them for the demanding world as civil engineers or in any other fields of career. Apart from that, participants and students who involved in organizing this competition will gain a very valuable experience that would be useful for them in the future.
Academically established is not the only criteria a student should own. Thousands of graduate students are unable to survive the challenging world due to lack of experience, confidence as well as the lacking of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills in dealing with the outside world. Thus, this program, which will be involving participation from students in UTP and other universities, is one of the methods in giving exposure to the students about outside world and in developing the students’ soft skills.
Other than that, indirectly, this program will improve the students’ abilities and skills in terms of time management, communication, interaction and some other aspects where these are applied in the real civil engineering field and in the society. This competition will also enable the students to explore the outside world and learn the good things from them.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this proposal is to obtain your consideration and approval in conducting the Intervarsity Concrete Frisbee Competition. While the objectives of the program are:
- To provide the students the opportunity to apply and broaden their skills and theories of what they have learnt in concrete classes.
- One of UCITY’s way in promoting civil engineering course in UTP to other institution
- To encourage students to be creative and innovative in applying the skills and theories learnt.
- To promote UTP’s name and products (graduates) to the outsiders.
- To gain participation from UTP and other universities.
- To enhance the interaction and relationship between the students of UTP and other universities.

The official accommodation for ICFC 2011 is at
residential college UTP.
Arrangement has been made and the accommodation fee for 4 persons is RM 100. The due date for accommodation payment is on 27th June 2011.
Accommodation fee consist of the stay at residential college UTP for 3 days and 2 nights for 4 persons.
