UCITY is a short form of UTP Civil Engineering Students’ Society. UCITY is a club exclusively for Civil Engineering students, lecturers, and staffs. UCITY acts as a medium to create an atmosphere of family among civilians. The committee members of UCITY for the session 2007/2008 have been established on 14 April 2007 by the selection from Civil engineering students of UTP during the UCITY Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The recruitment of the new committee members would establish a new method and style of activating and conducting the UCITY for the one-year session given. The common five High Committees, which are; President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a Special Task would mainly form the organization of UCITY. This is also including the other five Executive Committees, which are the Academic Exco, Communication and Welfare Exco, Media & Branding Exco, Competition & Technical Exco and Business and Merchandise Exco.
Since the establishment of the new committee, 14 programs have been planned which is beneficial to all. The programs will be conducted by each Exco. The distribution of tasks has the connection with their specialties. Hence, we are mainly targeting all the students from the Civil Department, from juniors up to the final year students and also the lecturers and staff of Civil Department. It is hoped that this society would inspire students to develop their skills in order to produce a productive and competitive student.
